If you ready my post back in April or have known me for any length of time you know I suffer from Ornithophobia, an irrational fear of birds. In that post I talked about how much I love the beach and how frustrating it is that the boardwalk, especially the Rehoboth boardwalk is such a stressor for me. I would have literally have a panic attack and would have to take side streets to get to wherever I needed to get.
I gave myself about a 4 month goal. I would walk my kids across the boardwalk. I would not have a panic attack and have to exit to the side streets. Not only did I do this on two different boardwalks, I did it through a flock of swooping birds that was as bad as I have ever seen it. Now I’m not saying I didn’t get a bit startled when large swooping birds were coming within inches of me, but I did it without a panic attack.
I’m not cured, but I have a tremendous amount more control over my phobia. I met my goal!

Good for you!!! It must be such a good feeling to work hard, reach your goal and know you accomplished something you were afraid of.
