About Me

by

Not an 80′s Actor.

I grew up a GT/LD pre ADA in Potomac Maryland. In other words, I had a pretty good brain but the dyslexia sometimes jumbled/jumbles things. This was also back in the days when most teachers couldn’t quite grasp the fact that you could actually have a smart kid with a learning difference. Writing has always been one of my greatest joys and greatest frustrations.

More about me.

I spent most of my career in Human Resources. I left for two years to teach. I actually taught English Lit for a bit, not bad for a Dyslexic that hated school. I enjoyed teaching, but I could not make the financials of it work. I am back in Human Resources, were I will probably stay until I am a world famous novelist or lottery winner; which ever happens first.

On September 24, 2005 I married a wonderful woman and talented Yoga teacher. Her website is www.melissafeldman.com.

On January 10, 2007 we had our first child, Joshua Ezra Feldman.  Our second, Elijah Benjamin, was born February 5, 2009.

Hi there! I just started reading your site and following you on twitter. Nice writing and cute family, btw. :)
Funny thing, I think I sort of know you guys, but not really. Your wife teaches yoga? I think my husband’s aunt knows her via yoga and last fall gave me her info so I could call her and ask about a Mohel, apparently you used one when your son was born last year? (used a mohel, as opposed to the other option of not using one, not sure what I mean there) Anyway, I never called because we had actually found a Mohel, and blah blah blah that’s more mohel talk than I need right now.
So, I was reading your site and I saw Melissa’s website and I was all “melissa feldman” … “melissa feldman” …. why is that so familiar??? So you see my point.
Anyway, looks like we are both local bloggers so I’ll keep an eye out for ya! I have an 8 month old son and I can really appreciate your parenting and family writing. It’s nice to see a guy sharing his experiences too –

    Take care!
    Stacy

Well, now the whole world knows that their son is circumcised, prob. don’t want to post personal family things personal on people’s blog pages, I’m just saying, common courtesy (not that it’s a shame to be circumcised or anything, I’m just saying it’s not for the world to read when they come to a random blog via the web.

Thanks, but if I had any concerns about it being posted I would have deleted the comment. I have never hidden my Jewish identity online, and in Judaism the Briss is considered a joyous occasion and is meant to be shared. After reading my posts here and on twitter, I don’t think she would have had any reason to think I would object to the comment.
